As diverse as the human psyche is, the forms of its creative treatment can also take on a variety of expressions. Good Boy approaches a possible interpretation through abstraction and experimentation and attempts to convey a sense of how the search for self-understanding and inner satisfaction can be lived through and visually represented. Behavioural patterns of the schematherapeutic mode model were created with a series of different machine learning models at the interface of generative two- and three-dimensional design and then elaborated and contextualized as ceramic objects with 3D printing. Personal developments and emotional worlds as well as various materials and contents of schema therapy form a comprehensive basis and flow directly or indirectly into the design.

The main aim is to focus on the benefits, or rather the necessity, of an introspective approach regardless of the subject, and to convey a sense of how the search for self-understanding and inner satisfaction can be experienced and visually depicted. The title Good Boy is intended to symbolize the feeling of living up to the expectations of others and the associated pressure to perform, for example in the form of academic or professional success, which sets an unattainable standard for oneself. The English translation of the good boy is deliberately chosen to trigger an association with the widespread use of this statement in relation to a well-behaved dog. Conceived as a deliberate exaggeration in the context of the work, hardly any other image makes the concept of subordination as clear as this one.

Working with ceramic 3D printing brings a quality into play that almost always includes unevenness and small errors. Through the manufacturing process alone, the general concept of unrealistic perfectionism is thus already taken up and presented as a meta-level. Something similar can be said about the design process with artificial intelligence. Fragments, unevenness or incorrect proportions are deliberately included and, if at all, only repaired to make the technical implementation possible. Through the deliberate use of generative tools, this design step also contributes to an organic appearance, which can be understood as representative of imperfect introspection and human failure.
